Des Moines Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) joins RUBIX family.
With more than 600 miles of multi-purpose trails, ranging from loops through parks to long-distance regionally designated routes, Central Iowa trails support active transportation and a multitude of recreational opportunities all year round.
In order to gather objective condition measurements on the trail network, the MPO will deploy Rival’s rRuf solution. Sensor based data will provide spatially and linearly referenced trail condition information, available to the MPO’s stakeholders through the RUBIX dashboard. With near real-time data loading and web-based access to data and analyses, RUBIX data is easily integrated to other data sets, such as ADT, time of day usage, and day of week usage that the MPO currently collects.
A robust dataset, including objective condition information, allows for data driven decisions for both maintenance and capital investment programs.
